1941 Plymouth Special Deluxe, with a 202 CID Flathead Six cylinder making 87 Horse Power with a 3 speed manual on the column. New fenders and grills highlighted the '41 models, which were greeted enthusiastically by the public. Plymouth sales in 1941 shot up 29 percent to 545,811, which set a new company record and kept Plymouth in third place overall in industry sales. The Deluxe led all sales that year for Plymouth and this slightly modified example shows why! Nice interior styling, factory independent front suspension, and suicide doors allowing easy access the rear passenger compartment. You can imagine Bugsy or Dillinger standing on the oak running boards holding his Tommy Gun escaping from a bank job!
The 41 we have for sale has been repainted in the past to a dark purple with black scallops and a very well done black pinstripe that includes the old Plymouth Ship Emblem in it along the driver’s door. The modifications have been tastefully done and gets respect wherever you drive it. Original Drive Train, all new wiring (maintaining the original 6-volt system) all lights, horn, heat and wipers work as they should. A great running and fun driving car that we enjoyed cruising the back roads and taking to the drive-in on Saturday night over this past summer.
If you’re looking for original, this would be very easy to take back to bare bones stock, if your thinking Hot Rod….this would be awesome with a subframe and a new crate Hemi and 4 speed automatic!!
