George Hurst always had a passion for performance. In the early ’60’s he started out producing racing shifters and aftermarket speed parts. Through his hard work, dedication and passion his name eventually became attached to performance enhanced Oldsmobile’s, the rest… is automotive history. By 1974, Oldsmobile’s Indy pace car program was in full motion, each new year it was back to the “brickyard” with a fresh version of the Indy 500 pace car along with a limited supply of carbon copy high performance street versions made available to the public just like the example before you here today. This specific Hurst Olds is quite rare being only 1 of  380 W-30 Hurst Olds designations produced in 1974. The remaining 1,420 versions had the smaller 350 cid v8 and were only sold in California. One quick way to tell the difference between a 350 V8 and a 455 V8 version is by looking at the front fenders of the ’74 for a 350 it has the Cutlass script and for the 455  there are “W-30” decals in place of the Cutlass script. This specific car is equipped with the  Hurst Olds appearance package embossed with special paint schemes, color-keyed road wheels, and special H/O regalia and the street lethal asphalt shredding high performance Numbers Matching 455 cubic inch “Rocket” engine pushing an effective 230 horsepower and the turbo 400 hydra-matic transmission with the Hurst Dual-Gate Shifter.

We have the numbers matching engine block and transmission.   As well as the correct year heads and intake.  Lots of extra parts.

The trunk pan is very solid needing only minor repair work.
