GREAT WORK BY MARGUERITE FIELDS THIS IS A SIGNED LIMITED EDITION PRINT 39/ 500 TITLED “SISTER OF THE CAT”. IT IS FROM THE ESTATE OF A LARGE COLLECTOR OF NATIVE AMERICAN ART SO IT IS PRE-OWNED BUT IN GOOD CONDITION. THE PRINT HAS BEEN PROTECTED BY THE FRAME SO IT IS GOOD. THE FRAME IS IN GOOD SHAPE AS WELL AND VERY PRETTY. I SEEN 2 VERY TINY MARKS ON THE FRAME THE ARE SO TINY THEY WON’T SHOW UP AT ALL IN THE PICTURES. IT MEASURES 23” TALL X 19” WIDE AND THAT IS MEASURED IN THE FRAME  SO THE PRINT MAY NOT BE EXACTLY THAT SIZE IT IS MATTED.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Born in Palo Alto, Marguerite embraced art at an early age. Strongly moved by the grace and freedom of horses, she began drawing them by the age of four. She was fascinated by Pegasus, and soon after was sketching horses with wings, as well as eagles.

Marguerite once explained, “I don’t just paint animals. I become them. My understanding of them is purely intuitive. So when people look into the eyes of the wolf they connect with the spirit. I want them to feel the inner soul of the animal.”

Throughout her childhood and teenage years she rendered drawings that spoke of nature and protecting the earth. Her innate love and respect for Indians and their ancient wisdom inspired her deeply. She chose not to attend art school because she only enjoyed drawing her own creations, not what someone wanted her to draw. It was imperative to her that her drawings capture the honesty and nature of civilization. Marguerite Fields passed away in her Rincon Valley home on May 30 surrounded by her loving family.
